Hulu, Yoga and Lent

Here is a link to the article on Lent and Yoga in the Huffington Post.

People sometimes tell me they find observance of Lent to be empty or old-fashioned. Or they just don’t like being given one more set of rules they are supposed to follow. When I was a child, my parents considered Christian rituals like fish on Fridays or self-denial at Lent to be quaintly anachronistic. Friday evenings when I was 11 or 12, my dad was more likely to smoke pot and my mom was more likely to turn up the radio and dance in her purple jumpsuit than to meditate or pray.

Sound Body Mind and Spirit

Dear Ones

I will be joining the wonderful people of Sugarloaf Congregation of Unitarian Universalists February 17. All are welcome.

Diana

Sunday, Feb 17 Service: Sound Body, Sound Mind, Sound Spirit
Presenter: Diana V. Morgan

February 13 marks Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent in the Christian tradition.  Lent is an especially powerful time to look inward to your spiritual core.  Eastern practices of yoga and meditation, like the traditional Christian practice of fasting during Lent, can help bring us into an awareness of the divine.
Diana V. Morgan will talk about how yoga practices including vinyasa, breathing and meditation can deepen your spiritual awareness during the holy period of Lent.
Diana is both an experienced yoga teacher and a Masters of Divinity candidate at Wesley Theological Seminary.
